Choose to Love, Not Hate

This seems like such a simple choice.

Be nice, consider others, be generous,

use please and thank you,

don’t be rude, pushy, butt in line,

steal or destroy others belongings,

have disdain or murder.

Those flames destroy.

Sometimes though

hatred is the right emotion.

To be against

abuse, slavery, injustice,

bullying, gaslighting,

rejection…

to create a circle of protective fire

around the vulnerable.

And,

love goes deeper.

It is choosing

and pursuing at all costs

for the benefit of

another.

True love takes a stand against

evil perpetrated against

brother or sister.

It can look strong and firm

and determined;

energetic even.

Love is also humble and sacrificial

for the benefit of another.

Costly.

So, the choice takes wisdom. 

Is it time to choose love, or

is it time to choose hate?
